Terms of Service

Laurel provides always-on computers for AI agents. By creating an account or using a machine you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Laurel.

1. Your account

You need an account to create machines. You are responsible for everything that happens on your machines and under your account, including what the agents you run there do. Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself.

Free machines follow the Free trial policy, including inactivity sleep, allowances, and the 30-day post-trial retention period.

2. Your machines

Each machine is a virtual server that belongs to your account. You get full control of it, including root access. Laurel may suspend an idle machine to save cost and wake it when you return; memory and disk are preserved. Machines that stay asleep for a long time may be stopped, keeping the disk but not the memory state.

You own the code and data you put on a machine. We don't claim any rights to it, and we don't look at it except to keep the service running or when you ask us for help.

3. Acceptable use

You may not use Laurel to:

• attack, scan, or gain unauthorized access to any system,
• send spam or run mass automated abuse of other services,
• mine cryptocurrency or run workloads unrelated to software work,
• store or distribute malware or unlawful content,
• circumvent limits, billing, or the terms of the AI providers and tools you connect.

We may suspend or delete machines and accounts that break these rules, and we'll tell you when we do unless the law prevents it.

4. Third-party tools

Coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode are provided by their own vendors under their own terms. You bring your own subscriptions or API keys, and your use of those tools is governed by their terms, not ours.

5. Credit and payment

Laurel is prepaid. You buy credit through Stripe at the amount you choose plus the credit fee shown at checkout, and sales tax where the law requires it. Credit does not expire and is spent at the rates shown in the app: a monthly price per machine size, with its included disk, metered by the second while it runs, plus extra disk, asleep memory and data sent at the cloud provider's rate.

Usage is metered every ten minutes and taken from your balance. When the balance reaches zero, your machines are asleep until you add credit; disk and kept memory continue to accrue while they are asleep, and a negative balance is settled from the next top-up. Credit fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice.

6. Availability

Laurel is provided as is. We work hard to keep machines available but don't promise uninterrupted service, and we're not liable for lost work, lost data, or indirect damages. Keep your code in a repository you control.

7. Ending things

You can delete a machine or your account at any time; deletion is permanent and destroys the machine's disk. We may end your access if you break these terms or if we shut the service down, in which case we'll give you reasonable notice to take your data.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it. Questions go to hello@laurel.dev.
